Ganiyu Sanni holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree, and Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Management.
He has over 20 years’ experience in the Banking industry and some of his key accomplishments include the set-up of Access Bank in Zambia in record time with immediate growth to 5 business offices. Gani, as he is fondly called, is a cost optimization expert and he has demonstrated this in every function he has run. He oversaw the implementation of over forty business offices expansion at the Group Office cost effectively in record times of implementation.
He has managed various portfolios that include the setup of Bullion Services Unit, Management of various Head Office Operations Departments; Country Operations Officer at Access Bank (Zambia) Ltd; Zonal Head, South-East and South-South Regions; and Group Head - General Resources Management in Nigeria and is currently the Managing Director of Access Bank (SL) Limited.
He was appointed to the Board of Access Bank (SL) Limited on September 27, 2018.
He is an Alumnus of Bangor Business School, Bangor University. He holds a Master’s Degree (Chartered Banker) in Banking and Finance from the Bangor University, United Kingdom; a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from the Lagos State University and a B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is also an alumnus of Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania (Middle Management Programme). Ganiyu is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Scotland, an Associate and Honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
